Identified - University Technology Services is investigating a degraded performance with Cognos for Google Chrome. Following a recent Google Chrome update, some Cognos users may encounter the error message: "Module metadata request failed." While existing reports can generally still be run, users may be unable to edit reports or access certain report development features when using Chrome.
Technology Services is currently planning to implement IBM's latest Cognos maintenance update, which addresses compatibility with recent browser updates. Until a resolution is implemented, users should use one of the following browsers for report editing and development: Microsoft Edge (recommended) or Firefox ESR. These browsers are not affected by the issue.
We will provide updates as more information becomes available. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the Service Desk.
